Buceo en Calpe: «La higuera»
Bajo la sombra del peñon, en su cara Noreste, se encuentra esta inmersión que comienza mas o menos a la mitad de la longitud del peñon de Ifach, y termina justo en frente de una roca de unos 2 metros de alto a ras de superficie con forma de una gran nariz, conocida como «la tocha».
Calpe, situado en la costa Blanca alicantina, es conocido entre la comunidad de buceadores por sus numerosos puntos de inmersión de baja exigencia, sin corrientes, con vida abundante pero sin demasiada dificultad ni profundidad en sus inmersiones, por lo que es un punto de destino ideal para buceadores con poca experienacia o para aquellos que llevan un tiempo sin bucear y necesitan unas inmersiones sin demasiada dificultad para volver a recuperar las sensaciones.
La higuera: la inmersión
[box] La higuera es la mas central de las tres inmersiones que pueden hacerse en la pared norte del peñon. Es una inmersión de las llamadas «caribeñas», ya que el barquero nos dejará en la pared bajho el peñon y nos recogerá mas o menos frente de la roca con forma de nariz, «la tocha». La inmersión es muy sencilla pero bastante espectacular ya que tiene unos contraluces muy bonitos contra el azul a nuestra derecha. Comenzamos descendiendo por la pared del peñon hasta el fondo, situado en una cota alrededor de los 19 metros y este será el punto mas profundo de la inmmersión, pues a medida que avancemos iremos subiendo de cota hasta llegar a los 12 metros de la zona de «los arcos», donde realizaremos la parada de seguridad. La orientación es muy sencilla ya que no tenemos mas que seguir con la pared del peñon a nuestra izquierda. La inmersión transcurre en su mayor parte en unos cañones situados entre grandes rocas de entre dos y cuatro metros de altura, donde podemos encontrar pulpos, morenas, congrios, gran variedad de peces de roca, freddys, doncellas…. y nudibranquios. Cada vez que estos cañones se abren hacia nuestra derecha, en dirección norte, disfrutaremos de una vista espectacular de bancos de salpas y mojarras sobrevolando la pradera de posidonia que cubre toda la zona, enmarcada entre grandes rocas. Esta primera parte de la inmersión es bastante entretenida y merece la pena disfrutarla y hacerla sin prisas.
Al salir de la zona de cañones, vamos a dar a un arenal por el cual seguimos unos 50 metros, siempre dejando la pared a nuestra izquierda y la pradera de posidonia a nuestra derecha, hasta dar de nuevo con formaciones rocosas, esta vez a 12 metros de profundidad. Estamos en el final de «Los arcos» y por aquí bichearemos lo que nos quede de aire hasta llegar a reserva y empezar a realizar la parada de seguridad. [/box]
