Buceo en Lanzarote, el «Blue Hole»
Lanzarote sin duda es uno de los puntos de buceo preferidos de los buceadores dentro de las islas canarias. Sus parajes volcánicos y sus inmersiones variadas y aptas para todos los niveles, lo convierten en un destino de buceo ideal para buceadores de todos los niveles. Lanzarote tiene cinco zonas principales de buceo: Playa blanca, Puerto del Carmen, Teguise, Mala y el charco del palo y la Graciosa.
La inmersión de hoy se sitúa en la zona de Puerto del Carmen, quizás la zona mas popular de buceo de Lanzarote, por su fácil acceso desde tierra y su gran variedad de inmersiones. Muchas de las inmersiones de Puerto del Carmen pueden realizarse partiendo desde el Muelle, no necesitandose embarcación mas que para las inmersiones mas alejadas, como pueden ser los pecios, Waikiki, o Ritchie´s Places. Aunque el «Blue Hole» ni se acerca al de Belice, y se el nombre puede llevar a engaño, tratandose más de una ironía que de un verdadero «blue hole», es sin duda una de las inmersiones mas populares y bonitas de la zona de playa del Carmen, por la espectacularidad de sus paisajes y por la cantidad de vida que se puede ver.

Esta inmersión puede hacerse perfectamente desde el muelle de Playa Chica sin necesidad de embarcación. Partimos del muelle con un sencillo paso de gigante, y comenzamos la inmersion a traves del veril arenoso paralelo a la costa, en dirección sudoeste, alcanzando rápidamente una profundidad entre 8 y 10 metros, y que irá bajando suavemente hata los 15 metros. Atención en este recorrido a las anguilas jardineras que se podrán ver a lo largo del veril, asi como sepias, viejas ylas inevitables fulas.
Casi llegando al límite del veril, cuando ya comienza la pared, vemos en la arena el comienzo del tunel natural, de unos 10 o 12 metros. que nos llevará hasta el fondo del veril, ofreciendonos como siempre en estos casos unos magníficos contrastes. A partir de aquí tenemos dos opciones, seguir el veril direccion oeste explorando las pequeñas grutas y cavernas, y echando un ojo al azul a nuestra izquierda, por lo que pudieramos ver pasar, o tomar dirección contraria y regresar hacia el veril de playa chica dejando la pared a nuestra izquierda. En cualquiera de las dos opciones tendremos oportunidad de ver angelotes, grandes chuchos negros, águilas de mar, espetones, grandes meros y bancos de túnidos y carángidos que pueden aparecer en el azul en cualquier momento.
Ojo en esta inmersión: id buscando en los cabos que encontrareis a lo largo del veril, ya que es relativamente frecuente encontrarse en ellos caballitos de mar.
Asimismo, recordamos que aunque la inmersión no presenta especial dificultad, no es recomendable para buzos con poca experiencia pues la entrada al veril está en la cota de los 20 metros y la salida en unas cotas cercanas a los 30. Debido a esta profundidad, para realizar esta inmersión es recomendable tener la titulación de avanzado o dos estrellas, o bien conformarse con ver el veril desde su parte superior siguiendo el contorno de la plataforma arenosa.
Así mismo, también es recomendable llevar un punto de iluminación que usaremos dentro del tunel y en las cavernas del veril para poder apreciar mejor cangrejos araña, gamba roja, congrios, morenas y demás.

Si en la inmersión del muelle de Sardina que os contábamos en una entrada anterior era obligatorio tomarse una papas arrugas con mojo y una» decobirra» en el chiringuito del muelle, aquí es parada inexcusable el bar «playa» del muelle de playa chica, verdadero cuertel general de los buceadores autóctonos y donde podrás disfrutar de una Dorada o una Tropical sin ni siquiera quitarte el traje….
