Buceo en Mexico: La inmersión en «Escuelitas», en Xpu-ha
La Riviera Maya ofrece un destino de buceo variado como pocos en el múndo. Desde las paredes de Cozumel y los avistamientos de tiburon ballena y pez vela en Hollbox e Isla Mujeres, hasta el buceo con tiburón toro, pasando por tranquilas pero divertidas inmersiones entre formaciones de coral a lo largo de toda la línea de costa o los míticos cenotes.
La costa de la península de Yucatán se halla rodeada por una enorme barrera de coral, la segunda más grande del mundo tras la gran barrera australiana, y que se extiende desde la punta de la península hasta bien entrado Belice lo que ofrece innumerables puntos de buceo a lo largo de la misma. Alejados de la vorágine y los altos rascacielos de Cancún, a medio camino entre Playa del Carmen y Tulum, se encuentra la playa de Xpu-ha. Kilometros y kilómetros de arena blanca y de mar entre verde y azul aguamarina típico del caribe, en un entorno de manglar y palmeras, sólo rotos por los bungalows de los hoteles y resorts costeros, bien integrados en el paisaje.
En Xpu-ha se pueden hacer una docena distinta de inmersiones, en parajes muy parecidos entre sí, pero cada una con un encanto especial, y de entre ellas, hoy destacamos la de «escuelitas».
Buceo en Xpú – Ha: La inmersión en «escuelitas».

Escuelitas es una inmersión que sin tener nada de especial, se te hace dificil de olvidar. Escuelitas es un paseo tranquilo, una orografía compuesta por dos grandes formaciones de coral entre la arena en las que se se encuentra un verdadero jardín lleno de color y plagado de peces tropicales.
La inmersión se lleva a cabo desde barca, y todo el rato te mantienes en una cota entre 8 y 12 metros, por lo que el consumo, al contrario que en otras inmersiones como «Cañones», «La palapita» o «El dorado» no es algo que debas vigilar y seguramente alcanzarás la hora de inmersión sin llegar a reserva. La inmersión se lleva a cabo en un área bastante reducida donde nos encontramos dos grandes formaciones con coral, gorgonias y esponjas de todo típo que albergan una cantida increible de vida de todo tipo y color, y de hecho por su escasa profundidad y grán biodiversidad es la inmersión elegida más comunmente para las escursiones de snorkel o las inmersiones nocturnas en por los centros de la zona.
La escasa profundidad hace que además puedas disfrutar de verdad de todo el color del caribe, algo que se echa en falta en el las inmersiones a 20 y 30 metros, donde al ser el escenario mas bien plano, el paisaje, a pesar de que usualmente hay por lo menos 20 metros de visibilidad, es un tanto «marrón» y monótono, dedicandote mas a resbuscar entre las formaciónes coralinas que a admirar el paisaje. En este caso, ocurre justo lo contrario y no sabes bien donde mirar ya que los contraluces a todo color son espectaculares pero la vida que puedes encontrar en tan sólo 10 metros cuadrados a nada que te fijes un poquito es increible.
En «escuelitas» verás tortugas, presentes en todas las inmersiones, y con un poco de suerte, hasta tiburón nodriza, y seguro pez león, pez angel, cirujanos, lábridos de todos los colores, pez cofre y pez globo y banquitos de chivitas y damiselas que con sus colas amarillas dan colorido adicional a la inmersión.
Un paseo por un verdadero jardín submarino apta para todos los niveles. Este tipo de inmersiones me encantan, ya que tienes lo mejor del mar en una cota de 10 metros, sin necesidad de bajar a 40 buscando «aventuras». Sin preocuparte del aire, ni del tiempo que te queda hasta entrar en Deco, ni de nada…Simplemente disfrutando de todos los colores y recordando el porqué te hiciste el curso de buceo….Por esto precisamente….:-)
