Buceo en Águilas: la isla del Fraile, la inmersión en «la boya de en medio»

De nuevo en Águilas, frente al embarcadero del Hornillo, buceamos en una de las tres posibles inmersiones posibles en la «Isla del fraile», la ya comentada «El Mogote«, «La cresta», y la que nos ocupa hoy, «La boya del medio», una fantastica inmersión en la cara mas externa de la isla del fraile, por lo que siempre habremos de estar con un ojo mirando hacia el azul, ya que nos puede deparar alguna agradable sorpresa.

Bucear en Águilas: la inmersión en «la boya del medio», en la isla del fraile.

 

[box] Tras amarrar la barca a la boya, comenzamos la inmersión bajando por el cabo hasta una plataforma de roca y posidonia  a unos 8 metros de profundidad muy amplia donde reuniremos algrupo y haremos los ultimos ajustes del equipo.

Empezamos a descender por el borde de la plataforma dejándola a nuestra izquierda, rodeándola hasta llegar a la pared de la isla, alcanzando ya aquí una cota de unos 18 a 20 metros, y abriendose ante nosotros una especie de callejones naturales formados por enormes bloques de rocas sobre fondo arenoso. Durante la bajada podemos ver nudibránquios, pulpos y morenas, ademas de los inevitables pejeverdes, dondellas, castañuelas y demás fauna de roquero típica mediterránea, y es conveniente prestar atención al azul pues no es raro encontrar espetones, águilas de mar y pez luna cuando es época.

El pasaje forma numerosas cuevas y grietas donde se esconden magníficas escorporas

 

La inmersión transcurre en una cota entre los 25 y los 28 metros serpenteando por entre los grandes bloques de roca. Entre la arena y las rocas se forman numerosas covachas donde podemos encontrar pulpos y escórporas, así que dependerá de nosotros si queremos ir a ras de arena rebuscando en cada rincón, o sobrevolar el fondo a unos metros admirando el paisaje y los contrastes. Siguiendo esta dirección, avanzamos unos 80 metros hasta que llegamos al punto de dar media vuelta, fácilmente reconocible ya que su visión impresiona: Se trata de dos grandes pilares de roca de unos 9 metros de altura que se  levantan uno al lado del otro sobre el fondo arenoso formando una gran puerta hacia el azul de unos 3 metros de ancho. Pasamos entre los dos pilares y ascendemos unos metros, dando la vuelta ahora con la pared a nuestra derecha y el azul a nuestra izquierda, volviendo al cabo en una cota de unos 12 metros para ahorrar aire y evitar además superar el tiempo de fondo para no deco, hasta que nos encontramos con la plataforma donde iniciamos al inmersión en la cota de 8 metros, donde podremos consumir el aire que nos quede hasta llegar a reserva bicheando antes de subirnos a 5 metros a realizar nuestra parada de seguridad.

La visibilidades variable y depende del viento, pudiendo encontrar alguna leve corriente en la zona más exterior de la inmersión. La zona es apta para todos los niveles, ya que al ser un buceo en pared puedes eligir tu mismo la cota máxima a la que quieres llegar y la inmersión en si misma no reviste especial dificultad.
