Bucear en Jávea: inmersión en Las Termas

Los alrededores de la Isla del Portixol ofrecen alguna de las de las inmersiones más espectaculares de la zona de Jávea, alguna de las cuales ya hemos visto, como «Los baños de Neptuno». La inmersión de hoy en la cara sur de la isla, «Las Termas», contigua a esta zona, es una inmersión apta para todos los niveles por su escasa corriente y por no alcanzar grandes profundidades, por lo que el consumo de aire tampoco será un problema, además de estar muy a refugio del viento, por lo que casi siempre es buceable.

Las termas, por su cercanía y su buceo apto para todos los niveles es una de las inmersiones mas conocidas de la zona y una de las opciones más sencillas para bucear en javea. Su profundidad máxima esta en cota de 18 metros en la zona más profunda, aunque lo más normal es que la mayor parte de la inmersión la pasemos en torno a los 14 metros de profundidad.

Fondeamos cerca de la isla en su cara sur, a resguardo de las olas, y bajamos por el cabo encontrando un fondo mixto de arena y rocas a unos 8 metros. Dejamos la pared de la isla a nuestra izquierda pero alejándonos un poco de ella para coger profundidad hasta llegar un roquero con bloques mas grandes en torno a 15 metros de profundidad. En esta zona podemos observar  fulas y castañuelas, salpas, bancos de mojarras y pargos breados y ocasionales dentones, además de encontrar pulpos y morenas entre las rocas. Conviente tener aquí tambien puesto un ojo en el azul pues es frecuente ver pequeños grupos de espetones que moran en la zona entre la isla del Portixol y el islote de Maria Claudia.

Seguimos hacia adelante hasta llegar a unas pequeñas matas de posidonia dispersas que abren camino a la zona de placas de roca, continuación de la propia isla de Portixol, con continuos entrantes y salientes. Aquí chequearemos el aire y tenemos dos opciónes. continuar hasta la cueva que se inserta en la isla y que ya descibimos en la inmersión de Los Baños de Neptuno (se encuentra en el segundo entrante, dificil de ver la entrada ya que queda generalemnte en sombra) y disfrutar de sus hermosos contraluces antes de dar la vuelta, o dar la vuelta directamente.

La vuelta la haremos por el mismo camino por donde hemos venido, pero en este caso, pegados a la isla, por su pared, dejándola a la derecha esta vez y el arenal y roquero a nuestra izquierda, disminuyendo así el consumo de aire ya que la profundidad aquí es de unos 7 u 8 metros.

Esta es una inmersión tranquila, para hacer sin prisas, ya que la poca profundidad disminuye el consumo y aumenta la luz natural, lo que favorece mucho el quedarse un buen rato buscando y bicheando entre las rocas, o simplemente osbervando mas de cerca y detenidamente lo que en otras ocasiones solo podemos ver de pasada. El recorrido desde el punto de fondeo hasta las placas de rocas y la entrada a la cueva está en torno a 80 o 90 metros, lo que significa además que entre la ida y la vuelta, es una inmersión larga, por lo que merece la pena que nos la tomemos con calma y disfrutemos.
