Bucear en Calpe: la inmersión en «los Arcos»
Bajo la sombra del Peñon de Ifach y en su cara norte, encontramos la que posiblemente es su inmersión mas conocida, «Los arcos», ya que lo espectacular de sus contraluces, unido a su escasa dificultad, hacen que pocos buceadores para los que el levante sea su principal zona de inmersión no conozcan este punto de buceo.
Buceo en Calpe: La inmersión en «los arcos»

Los arcos es un recorrido por un fondo rocoso formado por grandes piedras que crean bonitos contraluces y arcos por los que pasar. No es una inmersión con mucha vida, pero sin duda el ambiente que crea la caprichosa distribución de las rocas hace que sea una inmersión que siempre merezca la pena hacer.
La zona de inmersión es reducida y no hay un recorrido fijo, por lo que se puede y se suele improvisar, ya que al no superar la inmersión los 12 metros de profundidad, el aire da para mucho, y por muchas zonas podemos pasar dos veces. Los centros suelen fondear justo bajo el arco mayor, de modo que descendiendo por el cabo enseguida encontramos una enorme roca a 4 metros de profundidad que nos servirá para hacer la parada de seguridad al final de la inmersión. Bajamos rodeando la roca hasta el fondo de 8 metros donde encontramos de inmediato el mayor de los arcos y sin duda el más espectacular, ya que por su orientación, abre la puerta a un espectacular contraluz contra el azul y la posidonia.
Los sargos y mojarras son habitantes permanentes de estos arcos y tendremos la oportunidad de verlos de cerca al cruzarlo, ya que no rehuyen demasiado la presencia de buzos, alejándose un tanto pero manteniendose en las proximidades. Nada más pasar el arco encontramos a nuestra izquierda fondo arenoso con ocasionales rocas y una pradera de posidonia donde proliferan las sepias y los bancos de salpas. Nos dirigimos hacia la derecha buscando la pared del peñon hasta encontrar un grupo de grandes rocas donde podemos encontrar morenas, dentones, freddies, castañuelas y demás fauna típica de roca. Dejando la pared a nuestra izquierda vamos bicheando por la pared hasta encontrar otro de los arcos, el más pequeño, y que nos conducirá hacia la zona de rocas donde hemos comenzado la inmersión y donde se encuentran los 3 arcos restantes.
La inmersión no tiene ninguna dificultad, ya que la profundidad es escasa y la corriente inexistente, por lo que es una inmersión ideal para buceadores inexpertos o de un nivel básico, o si simplemente buscas una inmersión sin demasiadas exigencias, ya que a pesar de su poca dificultad, no defrauda nunca.
